Computational Fluid Dynamics

Computational fluid dynamics is the most commonly used tool to solve fluid dynamics problems with the help of a computer. As we all know, fluid dynamic equations i.e., the partial differential equations involved in fluid flow are hard to solve analytically. With the help of various computational methods, data structures and numerical analysis these equations can be solved easily. CFD gives us the analysis of fluid flow through various parameters such as density, pressure, velocity, temperature and viscosity. Knowing the correct boundary conditions and applying them are the most important part for any problem, either simple or complex, to get reliable CFD solutions. In practical applications, commercial software such as Ansys, Open Foam, COMSOL, etc. is used to get optimized and accurate solutions.

Computational fluid dynamics has large applications such as aerodynamics, heat transfer, combustion analysis, biological engineering, weather simulations, etc.
